Dr. Rebecca Zayas grew up in Lake in the Hills, Illinois, where she quickly realized that cold weather wasn’t for her. As soon as she could, she traded snow boots for sunshine and moved to Tampa, Florida. Her love for emergency veterinary medicine sparked while working in an emergency animal hospital in highschool. During her clinical year at the University of Florida, she discovered her passion for critical care. The fast-paced environment, complex cases, and need for sharp critical thinking made it the perfect fit. Now, she’s eager to expand her knowledge and skills with a focus on emergency and critical care. Her veterinary interests include client education, envenomation, trauma, pain management, and advancements in veterinary medicine.
