Dr. Geneva (Gigi) Gurule was born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico. She grew up an animal loving household with many dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, chicken and even a pet pigeon. She has always loved animals but gained a special interest in exotic pets when she was in high school. She moved to beautiful Boulder Colorado for undergrad to study ecology where she volunteered with various reptiles and wildlife. It wasn’t until she was about to graduate college when she decided she wanted to pursu veterinary medicine. After this decision, she moved to Fort Collins to work towards her master’s degree while applying for veterinary school, and worked at her first emergenc animal hospital. From there she moved to Arizona for veterinary school where she decided to pursue emergency medicine (and just collect exotic pets in her free time).
