Dr. Felipe Rivera Cortez has been around all kinds of animals (cows, goats, chickens, cats, dogs) since he could barely walk. He started his veterinary medicine career as a shelter technician at the Arizona Humane Society, but it was when he joined AVECCC as a technician assistant (and later on technician) that he fell in love with Emergency Medicine. He has a big passion for assisting with non-English speaking clients, since Spanish was his first language. He has a big interest in emergency medicine, anesthesia/pain management, and genetics and hopes to obtain residency in ECC following his internship year.
