Dr. Belinda Lowes
Dr. Belinda Lowes joined AVECCC in February 2025 and brings over 12 years of veterinary experience to the team. Her career in veterinary medicine began at the age of 17, when she took her first job at a veterinary hospital. Since then, she has remained dedicated to the field, driven by a passion for helping animals and the people who care for them.
Dr. Lowes is inspired by the challenge and reward of diagnosing and treating animals who cannot communicate their needs. For her, there is nothing more fulfilling than identifying the cause of a patient’s pain or illness and helping them return to a happy, healthy life. While outcomes are not always perfect, that opportunity to make a difference is what fuels her commitment to the profession.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Lowes enjoys swimming laps, stargazing, journaling, and spending quality time with her 7-year-old daughter—whether they’re hiking, horseback riding, or doing nails together. She shares her home with Zak, a 10-year-old black lab, and Abby, a 3-year-old black Pomeranian. Her 10-year-old gray tabby, Frapp, currently lives with her mother in Washington.
A lifelong learner and admirer of powerful voices, Dr. Lowes would love to have met Maya Angelou, whose ability to transform adversity into wisdom continues to inspire her. Her dream vacation is a cozy cabin on a snowy mountain—snowboarding all day and relaxing in a hot tub by night. And when she needs a good laugh, Bridesmaids is her favorite go-to movie.
