Dr. Weinzierl grew up in Minnesota.  Early on she knew that she loved helping animals, but she was also curious and loved solving mysteries and knowing how and why things work the way they do. Veterinary medicine, especially in the ER, combines these two passions perfectly.             

Dr. Weinzierl graduated from the University of Minnesota (Go Gophers!). She then moved to Arizona where she completed her Emergency and Critical Care internship at AVECCC. She has stayed on as a staff DVM ever since. She started working at AVECCC in June 2016 (internship year). She loves working at AVECCC because she is surrounded by colleagues who are highly trained and committed to gold standard medicine for all our patients. The opportunities for continued professional growth are endless!          

Dr. Weinzierl loves the variety of cases that come with emergency medicine and the fact that no two days are the same. She has two "perfect" dogs of her own; Summit, a chihuahua/cocker spaniel mix and Leo, a cattle dog mix. They remind her every day why she loves what she does!
